Indianapolis, IN – May 21, 2024 – State Farm has generously contributed $26,000 to Junior Achievement (JA) of Central Indiana, supporting several impactful programs during the past school year, particularly from December to May. This funding enabled 1,055 kindergarten through fifth-grade students in Central Indiana to gain a comprehensive understanding of citizenship, business, and economics through JA’s dynamic educational programs.
The supported programs include:
- JA Ourselves
- JA Our Families
- JA Our Community
- JA Our City
- JA Our Region
- JA Our Nation
These sequential programs are designed to incorporate hands-on activities that help students grasp fundamental concepts related to financial literacy and work readiness. JA’s unique approach involves the active participation of volunteers who bring real-world work experiences into the classroom, delivering the curriculum, and sharing valuable insights with students. This engagement inspires students with messages of opportunity and boundless potential.
The cost of delivering JA In-School programming is $25 per student. State Farm’s funding will cover program curriculum and development, materials, volunteer training, and administrative costs. The demographic reached primarily includes students in Marion County, with 78% of these students qualifying for Free or Reduced Lunch, reflecting JA’s focus on Low/Moderate Income households.
“We are incredibly grateful for State Farm’s support,” said Jennifer Burk, CEO of Junior Achievement of Central Indiana. “Their generous donation has made a meaningful impact on the lives of young students in our community, providing them with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed.”
State Farm’s support will empower these young minds, helping them build a brighter future through education and practical experience. The collaborative effort between State Farm and Junior Achievement of Central Indiana underscores a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of our youth and fostering a well-informed, economically responsible generation.
