JA BizTown Welcomes The UPS Store: Empowering Young Entrepreneurs in Central Indiana

Today was an exciting day at JA BizTown! We celebrated the grand opening of the newest JA BizTown storefront – The UPS Store – with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that brought together education, business, and community impact.

Located inside JA BizTown at 7435 N Keystone Ave., this imaginative storefront isn’t just a fun addition – it’s a hands-on learning experience for elementary and middle school students. Here, kids step into the shoes of small business owners, navigating real-world challenges like customer service, financial management, and teamwork. It’s all part of JA’s mission to prepare young people for success by giving them the tools and confidence to dream big.

Why is this so important?
JA BizTown is a simulated city where students don’t just learn about business – they live it. From running restaurants to managing banks, and now operating The UPS Store, students gain practical skills that will serve them for life. These experiences spark curiosity, build confidence, and inspire future entrepreneurs.

Sarah Casalan, President of The UPS Store, Inc., summed it up perfectly:
“We believe in investing in the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs. By supporting transformative learning environments like JA BizTown, we’re helping equip young people with the business acumen, financial literacy, and essential life skills they need to achieve their dreams and thrive.”

This partnership is part of The UPS Store’s Start Small, Grow Big initiative, which has raised more than $6.7 million nationwide for Junior Achievement programs since 2022. Locally, over $78,000 has supported Junior Achievement of Central Indiana – a testament to the shared commitment to empowering youth.

“Thanks to The UPS Store’s unwavering support, thousands of students across Central Indiana have already benefited from JA programs in meaningful ways. We are deeply grateful for their continued partnership in shaping tomorrow’s leaders—and now, we’re thrilled to welcome them into our physical space for the JA BizTown experience!"
